At the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, we are looking for a strong theorist in the field of Nano-optics and Nanophotonics. The job scope includes the study of active and tunable nanoantennas and metasurfaces, within the framework of an inter-disciplinary project involving different A*STAR Research Institutes and Singaporean Universities, aimed to bring into reality the next-generation of spatial light modulators with sub-wavelength resolution.
The candidate will work together with an international team of both theorists and experimentalist and will be in charge of generating new ideas, developing new concepts and proposing new designs for the project. The candidate should, as well, provide theoretical support, through modelling and simulations, to the experimental activities carried out in the group. Since the job will involve advanced concepts in nano-optical devices, a profound knowledge of optics, electromagnetic theory and opto-electronics is required.
- PhD in physics or engineering
- 3 years experience (including PhD studies)
- The candidate should be a scientist or engineer with a strong expertise in the fields of nanophotonics and nano-optics.
- The candidate should have extensive experience in design and modelling of optics and photonics devices, preferably with experience in the fields of nanoantennas and metasurfaces and/or in advanced opto-electronic devices.
