Job Description

The Senior Scientist will contribute to the characterisation and profiling of bioactive compound libraries, and their application in high-throughput phenotypic screening using relevant cell models. The individual will support the development and optimisation of screening workflows, followed by cellular characterisation of relevant phenotypes to identify and prioritise promising bioactive hits. The role will also involve data interpretation, evaluation of screening outcomes and validation of selected candidates, as well as contributing to the development of robust and reproducible workflows for bioactive compound discovery and evaluation.

Job Requirements

  • PhD in Food Science, Cell Biology, Nutrition or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant research experience in nutraceuticals, bioactive compounds, food science or related areas.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the characterisation and profiling of bioactive compounds, including proteins and peptides.
  • Strong scientific and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently design experiments, interpret complex datasets and identify promising bioactive candidates.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead research activities and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritise tasks and deliver project milestones within defined timelines.
