Programme Manager (JOINT ASIAN GENOMICS Center, JAGC)

The JAGC program is a collaboration between MiRXES and GIS (together with other public research institutions) to build a new high-throughput NGS platform to empower population-scale genome sequencing, single cell genomics, large-scale epigenomics, as well as clinical genomics.  The collaboration involves multiple public research institutions, including the Genome Institute of Singapore, Bioinformatics Institute, and Diagnostics Development Hub of A*STAR, as well as National Cancer Centre of Singapore and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU.   

We are searching for a talented and well-organized Program Manager (PM) to join the team at GIS for a one-year appointment, supporting the program through its conclusion phase. The PM will work with the Principal Investigators to coordinate the program activities, manage milestones and budget, facilitate meetings, and support the program’s successful completion while adapting to different working styles.

The PM will liaise closely with MiRXES representatives, manage expectations, facilitate discussions, provide constructive feedback, identify risks, and ensure that agreed deliverables, timelines and responsibilities remain clear. The PM is expected to provide intellectual and strategic input, constructively question and discuss priorities, provide feedback, and set expectations to keep the program on track towards fruition. 

As the primary manager for day-to-day program operations and milestone management, the PM will lead preparation for high-level governance meetings and senior management, prepare annual scientific and technical reports, and engage with scientists across the participating teams. The PM will also work closely with the grantor, communicating the program’s progress and developments in both scientific and non-scientific manner, and proactively informing stakeholders of changes to scope, timelines or deliverables. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are therefore essential.

Requirements:

• PhD or Masters in life sciences or related discipline with relevant professional experience (after PhD or Masters)
• Background in genomics, molecular and cell biology or a related field
• Demonstrated programme/project management experience, with strong coordination, team-leading and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, well organized and detailed oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with scientists, industry partners, grantors, senior management and senior stakeholders
