Job Description
The Silicon Photonics team is pleased to announce an opening for Scientist or Senior Scientist position. We are seeking experienced researchers to drive breakthroughs in heterogeneously integrated photonic chips for next-generation data communication networks.
By leveraging die-to-wafer bonding technologies and industry-standard wafer-level fabrication facilities, our team enables innovations across diverse application areas, with a strong focus on solutions that can be readily translated into scalable manufacturing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating and implementing new ideas and concepts for the heterogeneous integration of Indium phosphide (InP) on 200 mm/300 mm SOI platforms.
- Perform simulations, layout, design rule definition and test verification for InP-on-silicon devices.
- Collaborate with colleagues in process integration and characterization teams to enable project development.
- Stay up to date with scientific developments and share knowledge through presentations, publications, and conferences.
Job Requirements:
- Hold a PhD in science or engineering (or an equivalent qualification), preferably with a focus on semiconductor device development.
- Experience in semiconductor lasers/photodetectors design is required; familiarity with indium phosphide active device design—such as epitaxial layer stacks, cavity structures, and related aspects—is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills with a track record of publications.
- A proactive, hands-on mindset with demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
- For senior-level roles, a minimum of 5 years of experience in semiconductor device design or process integration is required.
