Research Officer / Senior Research Officer
The Therapeutic Antibody Engineering Group at the Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN) is seeking a highly motivated Research Officer or Senior Research Officer to support our biologics drug discovery programs. Our research spans multiple therapeutic areas, including cancer, infectious diseases and inflammatory disorders, with a strong emphasis on translating antibody discoveries into therapeutic candidates.
The successful candidate will contribute to the discovery and preclinical evaluation of human monoclonal antibodies against disease-associated targets. Responsibilities include functional characterization of antibody leads using biochemical and cell-based assays, as well as evaluating therapeutic efficacy in relevant in vivo models. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of cutting-edge technology platforms within a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments to evaluate therapeutic antibodies.
- Culture and maintain primary cells and mammalian cell lines.
- Develop and perform cell-based functional assays.
- Perform and analyze multicolor flow cytometry experiments.
- Conduct animal studies in accordance with institutional and ethical guidelines.
- Analyze experimental data, prepare reports, and present findings to the research team.
- Collaborate closely with scientists across multidisciplinary projects to advance biologics drug discovery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on research experience in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical research environment.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Primary cell isolation and mammalian cell culture
- Cell-based functional assays
- Flow cytometry
- In vivo animal studies
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
