Job Summary

Job description 1. Contribute to high-quality research and development work in TCOMS laboratory through physical experiments including: - design of scaled physical test models, such as maritime vessels, offshore rigs, marine renewable platforms, and aquaculture systems for testing in TCOMS Ocean Basin. - generation of detailed design, production, assembly, and as-built drawings of test models. - Structural assessment of the test models as well as other support to be used in the experimental setup. - Work with a team of engineers and technicians on model fabrication and modification, calibration, instrumentation, and experimental setup. - enhance the measurement of models’ behaviour and response by use of appropriate sensors like load cells or custom strain gauges. - document design processes, methodologies, and results. - contribute to process enhancements for improved efficiency of research work. 2. Perform research in the following areas: - Offshore hydrodynamics - Coastal Protection - Structural response and health monitoring of Marine & Offshore platforms and floating structures - Fluid-structure interactions 3. Collaborate with internal teams, affiliated research institutes and other relevant stakeholders in proposal preparation and submission. 4. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements Qualification & Field of Study: Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree from reputable universities in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or other related disciplines.
Work Experience:
- Offshore engineering, marine engineering, marine structures, hydrodynamics, naval architecture.
- CAD software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoCAD - Engineering tools such as SESAM and ABAQUS - Programming codes such as Python, MATLAB, or equivalent.
