About the Role

Seeking a strategic Financial Operations Manager with 10+ years’ experience in financial management, analytics, and operational finance to lead planning, reporting, business analytics, and AI FinOps. The role partners with Finance, Technology, Data, and Business leaders to strengthen governance, optimize cloud, AI platform, and technology investments, and support digital transformation. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, performance analytics, financial reporting, and AI-related cost management to enable data-driven decisions and scalable, accountable investment management.

 

What You Will Do

 

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes across business and technology functions.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analysis to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Conduct variance analysis and prepare executive-level financial reporting and presentations.

 

Financial Operations Management

  • Establish and strengthen financial controls, operating procedures, and performance management frameworks.
  • Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to improve financial reporting and operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to improve financial accountability and resource utilization.

 

AI FinOps & Technology Cost Management

  • Establish AI FinOps practices to improve visibility, governance, and optimisation of AI, cloud, and technology-related costs.
  • Monitor and analyse spend across AI platforms, LLMs, cloud infrastructure, data storage, GPUs, and third-party AI services.
  • Develop cost allocation, chargeback, and forecasting models for AI workloads, training, inference, and cloud usage.
  • Partner with AI, engineering, data science, and cloud teams to improve utilisation, cost efficiency, and financial accountability.
  • Define AI FinOps KPIs and governance processes to balance innovation, scalability, performance, and financial sustainability.

 

Business Analytics & Performance Reporting

  • Develop and maintain executive dashboards, KPIs, and operational performance metrics.
  • Leverage analytics tools and business intelligence platforms to generate actionable insights.
  • Identify trends, operational inefficiencies, and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

 

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Partner with business, finance, technology, and data leaders to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Evaluate capital investments, digital transformation projects, AI initiatives, and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Support enterprise-wide transformation efforts through financial analysis and performance measurement.
  • Provide financial guidance and strategic recommendations aligned with organizational objectives.

 

Risk Management & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulatory requirements, and internal control frameworks.
  • Support audit activities and maintain appropriate documentation for financial and technology expenditures.
  • Identify financial, operational, and technology-related risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Establish governance standards for AI and cloud cost management, spending accountability, and financial transparency.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field; MBA, CPA, CMA, CFA, or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in financial management, FP&A, operational finance, analytics, or business performance management.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, communication, stakeholder management, influencing, leadership, and team development skills.
  • Experience managing technology, cloud, digital transformation, or AI-related budgets and investments.
  • Strong capability in financial modelling, business cases, ROI analysis, forecasting, and executive reporting.
  • Proficiency in Excel, financial planning tools, ERP systems, and BI platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms, AI cost drivers, FinOps practices, and cloud/AI cost management tools.
  • Preferred certifications include FinOps, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, analytics, or data management credentials.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, communication, stakeholder management, influencing, leadership, and team development skills.
