Role Summary
The Data Analyst will convert trusted enterprise data into meaningful insights, dashboards and recommendations that help business stakeholders make better decisions. The role sits within a modern CDO office and supports the organisation’s data enablement agenda across functions such as Finance, Procurement, HR, Research Administration and Corporate Services.
This role is suitable for someone who is hands-on, curious, business-oriented and comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The candidate should be able to explore datasets in Snowflake, create high-quality Power BI dashboards, support KPI definitions and explain analytical findings in clear business language.
Key Responsibilities
Analytics and Insight Generation
- Analyse large and complex datasets to identify business trends, anomalies, risks, opportunities and operational performance drivers.
- Perform root-cause analysis to support business improvement initiatives and management decision-making.
- Translate data findings into concise insights, practical recommendations and clear narratives for stakeholders.
- Support ad-hoc analytical requests from leadership and business functions, while helping move recurring requests into reusable dashboards or data products.
Dashboard Development and Reporting
- Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards, KPI scorecards and management reports aligned to business priorities.
- Create intuitive visualisations that are simple to understand, visually consistent and suitable for executive or operational users.
- Work with stakeholders to refine report requirements, data definitions, filters, drill-downs and usage scenarios.
- Support self-service analytics by developing reusable report templates, standard measures and clear user guidance.
Snowflake and Data Product Support
- Query and explore curated datasets in Snowflake for reporting, reconciliation and analytical use cases.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to validate data sources, transformation logic and certified datasets used in dashboards.
- Support the development of domain-specific data products by defining analytical requirements, KPI logic and consumption patterns.
- Document analytical assumptions, metric definitions and data limitations clearly to improve transparency and trust.
Data Quality, Governance and Collaboration
- Identify and escalate data quality issues discovered during analysis or dashboard development.
- Work with Data Stewards and governance teams to align reports to approved business definitions and glossary terms.
- Support metadata, lineage and documentation activities for dashboards and analytical assets.
- Contribute to data literacy sessions, user walkthroughs and stakeholder adoption activities.

Experience and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
• Typically 3–5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting or performance analytics.
• Hands-on experience building dashboards and working with enterprise datasets.
• Ability to communicate technical findings to business users in plain language.
• Experience in public sector, research, corporate services or large enterprise environments is advantageous.
