Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Laboratory Officer to join our Remanufacturing Process Technology Group. The successful candidate will support research, development, and experimental activities within the laboratory. This role is suitable for a junior engineer and involves hands-on work with advanced manufacturing and welding systems, including Directed Energy Deposition (DED), robotic arc welding, laser welding, electron beam processes, and material science.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Support laboratory operations related to additive manufacturing and welding processes (DED, robotic arc welding, laser welding, electron beam).
  • Assist in the setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and robotic systems.
  • Prepare materials, samples, and test specimens for experiments and trials.
  • Conduct routine experiments, data collection, and basic analysis under guidance from engineers and researchers.
  • Maintain laboratory tools, equipment, and workspaces in a safe and orderly condition.
  • Follow laboratory safety procedures and support risk assessments and safe work practices.
  • Document experimental procedures, observations, and results in lab records and reports.
  • Assist with procurement, inventory management, and calibration of laboratory equipment as required.

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of welding, manufacturing processes, or materials engineering.
  • Willingness to work hands-on with machinery, robotics, and experimental setups.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Good teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with limited experience are welcome to apply.

 

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Exposure to welding processes, additive manufacturing, or metal materials.
  • Basic experience with laboratory instrumentation, robots, or automation systems.
  • Familiarity with technical documentation and experimental reporting.
