The Role
We are hiring multiple Programme Managers, each supporting one or more of the Programme's research workstreams. Given the scientific significance of this role, Programme Managers report jointly to the Executive Director and the Director (Programme Strategy & Infra), ensuring both scientific alignment and operational consistency. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced research administrator or scientist-turned-manager to play a hands-on role in a nationally significant biomedical research initiative.
- Manage the operational delivery of one or more research workstreams within the Programme (e.g. foundational data infrastructure and longitudinal cohort studies, basic discovery science, socio-environmental determinants and innovations, AI and technology applications, or validation and test-bedding).
- Coordinate closely with research teams and Principal Investigators to track project milestones, deliverables, timelines and budgets for awards within the assigned workstream(s).
- Support the administration of award calls, including coordinating applications, liaising with reviewers, and supporting the Advisory Committee's evaluation and selection processes.
- Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards and updates for the Programme Office leadership, the Advisory Committee, and, where relevant, funders and governance bodies.
- Facilitate collaboration and information-sharing across research teams and institutions to support integration between workstreams (for example, ensuring discovery science and technology teams can draw on the longitudinal cohort infrastructure).
- Identify and escalate risks, delays or resourcing issues affecting research delivery within the assigned workstream(s).
Maximising Healthy and Successful Longevity Grand Challenge
Senior/Asst Programme Manager
Reports to: Director, Programme Strategy & Infrastructure | Location: Singapore
About the Programme
Singapore is undergoing a rapid demographic transition towards a super-aged society, creating both a pressing need and a valuable opportunity to invest in research that helps our population age well. The Maximising Healthy and Successful Longevity Grand Challenge is the first biomedical Grand Challenge to be funded under Singapore's RIE2030 plan (FY2026–2030), reflecting the national commitment to evidence-based research that helps address the challenges of an ageing society.
The Programme's central goal is to extend the healthspan of Singaporeans — helping people live with sustained brain and physical function for as long as possible. It is organised around two overlapping focus areas: Brain Health (reducing the incidence of cognitive impairment and progression to dementia) and Physical Function (reducing the decline of functional capacity and addressing physical frailty among older adults).
The Programme's research portfolio spans foundational data infrastructure (including a longitudinal longevity cohort with deep phenotyping), basic discovery science, socio-environmental determinants and innovations, the application of AI and technology, and validation and test-bedding to translate research into real-world implementation.
The Programme is guided by a scientific leadership team led by Executive Director spanning multiple domains relevant to healthy longevity research. This is complemented by a central Programme Office that coordinates activities across research teams and institutions, and works closely with implementation partners across healthcare, community, industry and policy sectors.
