Role Purpose

The Senior Assistant Director, Product Design & Digital Delivery will lead the design and delivery of user-centric digital products and enterprise solutions, combining strong UI/UX expertise with project and stakeholder management capabilities.

The role will take end-to-end ownership from business discovery and user research through solution design, prototyping, delivery coordination, user acceptance testing, implementation and transition to business-as-usual operations.

The successful candidate should be able to work independently with senior business stakeholders, translate complex business needs into intuitive digital experiences, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

A. UI/UX and Product Design Leadership

• Lead user research, discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews to understand business and user needs.
• Translate complex requirements into user journeys, service blueprints, process flows, information architecture, wireframes and interactive prototypes.
• Lead the design of intuitive interfaces for enterprise applications, dashboards, data products and internal digital services.
• Establish and maintain design systems, reusable components and UI/UX standards.
• Plan and conduct usability testing and incorporate user feedback into design iterations.
• Ensure designs meet usability, accessibility, consistency and responsive design principles.
• Work closely with developers and technical teams to ensure accurate implementation of approved designs.
• Guide project teams on user-centred design and design-thinking practices.

B. Project and Delivery Management

• Manage projects from discovery through design, development, testing, implementation and handover.
• Develop and maintain project plans covering scope, deliverables, milestones, resources, dependencies and timelines.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams comprising business users, developers, architects, data teams, vendors and other stakeholders.
• Manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Facilitate project governance, working sessions, design reviews and steering discussions.
• Monitor delivery progress and proactively address potential delays or delivery risks.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing, implementation readiness and transition to business-as-usual operations.
• Provide concise project updates, options and recommendations to senior management.

C. Business Analysis and Stakeholder Management

• Engage senior stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, operational pain points and business priorities.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional, user experience and solution requirements.
• Challenge and refine requirements where opportunities exist to simplify processes or improve user experience.
• Facilitate workshops to achieve alignment across business and technology teams.
• Present concepts, prototypes, options and recommendations to management.
• Manage conflicting stakeholder requirements and facilitate appropriate trade-off decisions.
• Act as a bridge between business, users, design and technology teams.

D. Governance and Quality

• Establish clear design and delivery governance for assigned initiatives.
• Ensure appropriate documentation, design standards and approval processes are followed.
• Maintain requirements traceability from business needs through design, development and user acceptance testing.
• Ensure key project decisions, risks, accountabilities and ownership are clearly documented. 
• Support effective handover into business-as-usual operations, including documentation, knowledge transfer and ownership of ongoing enhancements.

Job Requirements

• 8-10 years of relevant experience in UI/UX design, digital product design, business analysis, digital transformation or technology project delivery.
• Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end digital projects or products.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Figma, FigJam or equivalent UI/UX design and prototyping tools.
• Strong understanding of user-centred design, design thinking, journey mapping, prototyping and usability testing.
• Proven project management experience covering scope, schedule, RAID management, stakeholder management, user acceptance testing and implementation.
• Experience working with Agile, Scrum and/or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Experience managing senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Strong workshop facilitation, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured requirements and practical solutions.
• Experience working across multidisciplinary business and technical teams.

Good To Have

• Experience with enterprise applications, data platforms, dashboards or digital transformation programmes.
• Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Planner or equivalent delivery management platforms.
• Understanding of data visualisation, dashboard user experience, enterprise technology architecture and system integration.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS and modern application development practices would be advantageous.
• Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum, Agile, Design Thinking or equivalent would be beneficial.
