The successful candidate should thrive in collaborative team settings, demonstrate strong technical initiative and possess a strong passion for advancing research from conceptualization to real-world applications.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Capability Development and Technology Innovation
    • Develop intelligent systems and platforms that transform domain knowledge, operational procedures, and user inputs into executable workflows and automation strategies
    • Develop approaches for planning, reasoning, decision-making, and adaptive execution under changing operational conditions
    • Generate intellectual property, publications and technology assets arising from research and project activities, aligning to the growth of organisational capabilities and technology roadmaps
    • Lead technical development, work packages and mentor junior researchers and engineers in the development and deployment of intelligent solutions
  2. Proposal Development and Strategic Growth
    • Develop research proposals, grant applications, and industry project opportunities aligned with organisational priorities and strategic objectives
    • Identify emerging technology trends, industry needs, and innovation opportunities to shape future research directions and capability development
    • Contribute to the development of technical roadmaps, value propositions, and solution concepts to support business development, capability-building initiatives, and long-term growth
  3. Industry and Research Project Development and Execution
    • Engage industry partners to identify challenges, define problem statements, scope projects, and develop innovative manufacturing and adaptive automation solutions
    • Lead or support project execution across the technology development lifecycle, from conceptualisation, design and analysis to prototyping, validation and deployment of the proposed solution to industry manufacturing
    • Conduct independent research while contributing effectively as a team player within a multidisciplinary team
