Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join our team (www.liuslab.com) at A*STAR IMCB, Singapore, to work on DNA-encoded library (DEL) screening and molecular glue discovery.

The successful candidate will work at the interface of experimental science, data analysis and drug discovery. The role will involve conducting DEL screens, analysing sequencing data, prioritising compounds, and validating selected hits using biochemical, biophysical and cellular assays.

🔎 Key areas:
• DNA-encoded library screening
• Next-generation sequencing data analysis and visualisation
• Cheminformatics and chemical structure analysis
• Recombinant protein expression and purification
• Biochemical, biophysical and cellular validation of selected compounds

Training will be provided in areas where the candidate has less prior experience.

💼 Requirements:
• BSc, MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biology, Bioinformatics or a related field
• Working knowledge in Python and R to analyse large data sets
• Wet-lab experience in biochemical, biophysical or cellular experiments
• A good understanding of chemistry and chemical structures
• An interest in working across both experimental and computational aspects of drug discovery

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous but is not essential:
• DNA-encoded library screening or data analysis
• Recombinant protein expression and purification
• Biophysical assays
• Cancer biology
• Induced-proximity therapeutics
• Machine learning or statistical modelling

📧 To apply, please email your CV and a brief description of your relevant data analysis and wet-lab experience to Dr Shuang Liu at liu_shuang@a-star.edu.sg.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.

The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive. A*STAR may include additional selection criteria based on its prevailing recruitment policies. These policies may be amended from time to time without notice. We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
