The successful candidate will contribute to the design, fabrication, and characterization of cutting-edge photonic structures, including metasurfaces and polaritonic devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct optical characterization of nanophotonic devices using advanced optical setups.
- Design, develop, and optimize device fabrication processes for photonic and metasurface structures.
- Build and operate optical systems involving spatial light modulators (SLMs) and structured light excitation techniques.
- Perform experimental studies on polariton lasing devices and tunable metasurfaces.
- Analyze experimental data and correlate results with theoretical models in optical physics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance device performance and integration.
- Maintain proper documentation of experimental procedures and results.
Qualifications & Requirements
- PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related field.
- Strong background in nanophotonics and optical physics.
- Hands-on experience with optical setups, particularly involving spatial light modulation.
- Practical experience in cleanroom fabrication processes, including:
- Photolithography
- Electron Beam Lithography (EBL)
- Thin film deposition and nanofabrication techniques
- Familiarity with tunable device fabrication and metasurface technologies.
- Experience with polariton or laser-based photonic devices is highly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of simulation tools (e.g., FDTD, COMSOL).
- Experience in integrating optical systems with electronic or imaging platforms.
- Track record of publications in relevant fields.
