The Laboratory of Translational Cancer Biology at the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS), A*STAR, invites applications for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our multidisciplinary team studying hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and colorectal (CRC) cancer biology.
The Tam laboratory leverages cutting-edge approaches in functional genomics, cancer metabolism, and cell-state biology approaches to uncover mechanisms underlying tumor progression, metastasis, therapeutic resistance, and tumor microenvironment interactions.
Our research integrates fundamental discovery science with translational and clinical applications, with strong opportunities for collaboration with clinician-scientists and access to patient-derived samples and advanced genomic technologies.
The successful candidate will contribute to high-impact cancer research spanning basic, translational, and clinical sciences. We are seeking an independent, creative, and highly motivated scientist with a strong interest in addressing important challenges in cancer biology and precision oncology.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences or a relevant discipline from a recognized international Institutions or University
- Research experience in one or more of the following areas: Tumor evolution and cellular plasticity, Cancer metabolism and metabolic vulnerabilities, Tumor microenvironment and niche biology
- Hands-on experience in animal husbandry and in vivo tumor modelling
- Demonstrated experience in biochemistry, cell and molecular biology techniques
- Strong track record of scientific achievement, including publications and demonstrated research creativity
- Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly Desirable Skills:
- Experience in Single-cell and spatial multi-omics workflow and data analyses
- Functional genomic screening and precision oncology approaches
- Experience with patient-derived organoids and translational cancer models
Interested candidates are invited to send a cover letter stating your research goals, curriculum vitae, and the contact details of at least three references to Wai Leong TAM (tamwl@a-star.edu.sg).
