Job Description
Job Title:  Scientist, Laboratory of Precision Disease Therapeutics (GIS)
Requisition ID:  3349
Posting Start Date:  01/10/2026

Position Overview

The Laboratory of Precision Disease Therapeutics focuses on therapeutic target discovery and translational development for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic hepatitis (MASH), with a strong emphasis on siRNA-based therapeutics.

Our research integrates patient-derived multi-omics datasets with in vivo functional genetic screening and human in vitro disease models to systematically identify and validate clinically relevant therapeutic targets.

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to lead and contribute to projects involving therapeutic target validation, disease modeling, and translational therapeutic development.

The successful candidate will work in a highly interdisciplinary and translational research environment and is expected to contribute scientifically through experimental design, data interpretation, troubleshooting, and project development.

Requirements

•            Design and execute independent research projects related to MASH and siRNA therapeutics

•            Perform molecular and cellular biology experiments, including gene perturbation studies and disease modeling

•            Contribute to in vivo studies and functional validation experiments

•            Analyze and interpret experimental data and present findings in internal and external meetings

•            Participate in manuscript preparation, grant applications, and collaborative projects

•            Contribute to scientific discussions, troubleshooting, and project strategy development

•            Mentor junior lab members when appropriate

Requirements

•            PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, or related fields

•            Strong background in molecular biology, cell biology, or translational disease research

•            Experience with mammalian primary cell culture and molecular techniques

•            Ability to independently plan and execute experiments

•            Strong scientific reasoning, communication, and problem-solving skills

•            Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required but Advantageous)

•            Experience in liver disease, metabolic disease, or fibrosis research

•            Experience with siRNA or gene knockdown approaches

•            Experience with in vivo mouse studies

•            Familiarity with histology or imaging-based assays

•            Experience working in translational or interdisciplinary research settings

•            Publication record in relevant research areas
