The A*STAR Institute for Human Development and Potential (A*STAR IHDP) focuses on research that aims to improve and impact the health and well-being of Singaporeans across the life course. 

 

The Integrative Adolescents Research Programme (IARP) initiative aims to understand the Singapore adolescents’ health through psychological well-being, aspects of physical health and environmental factors.

Job Description

  • Plans and coordinates the initiation of research study protocol, and the establishment of operating policies and procedures.
  • Supports research ethics board applications.
  • Plans, implements, and maintains data collection in accordance to research protocol.
  • Recruits, instructs, and coordinates research subjects and/or volunteers, as appropriate to specific study objectives and work scope.
  • Ensures the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activities.
  • Working with participants across a range of settings (e.g., hospital, university research lab), and hours (e.g., some weekends and evenings).
    Additional research and administrative duties (e.g., preparation of manuscripts for publication, conference presentations, purchases, grant reports)
  • Monitors the progress of research activities; develops and maintains records of research activities, and prepares periodic and ad hoc reports, as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • BSc degree in psychology, neuroscience, child development, biology or related fields.
  • 1 year experience preferred, candidates with no experience will also be considered.
  • Willingness and availability to consistently work on one or both days on a weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday) due to project needs.
  • Ability to read and write in English and Mother Tongue is essential for communication with parents due to project needs.
  • Ability to read and write in more than one local official language is advantageous but not essential.
  • Team oriented, proactive, willing to learn, able to work independently, good communication skills and able to multi-task.
