Long Description

Research Officer will be part of two projects funded by the Singapore Food Story. The first project aims to discover novel flavour enhancers using a combination of structural ‘ bioinformatics, high-throughput GPCR activity screening, affinity-mass spectrometry and a variety of cellular assays.  The second project aims to generate a sustainable yeast-based platform for Alternative Lipids

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and hard-working researcher to support and lead efforts in the various projects. You will work in an innovative, high-spirited and dynamic team and will work independently receiving valuable mentorship. You will actively participate in the design and execution of various R&D projects, acquiring cutting edge research and analytical skills, as well as contributing to the translation of scientific findings from bench to bedside.

Job requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Life Sciences, Biotechnology or a related discipline.
• Experience in molecular biology methods will be an advantage (but training from scratch is possible)
• Proficient in:
              - Routine molecular biology techniques like PCR, cloning etc-
              - Managing the laboratory
              - Project planning, design, coordination and execution
              - Communicating with scientific collaborators 
              - Generating project reports and delivering presentations at project meetings
• Well organized, with good interpersonal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated, proactive and adaptable to work exigencies
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Awareness of workplace health and safety
