Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Officer to join our Translational Retinal Research Laboratory as a Stem Cell Biologist. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, characterization and application of stem cell-derived retinal cells and retinal organoids to model inherited retinal diseases and support translational research.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain human iPSC and long-term retinal organoid cultures and assist in the differentiation of stem cell-derived retinal cells.
  • Perform cellular and molecular characterization of retinal cell types using laboratory techniques such as immunofluorescence, confocal imaging, qPCR and western blotting.
  • Support the development and optimisation of new functional and imaging-based assays.
  • Contribute to experimental design, data analysis, and documentation of research findings.
  • Collaborate with team members and external partners across multiple projects on translational research aimed at therapeutic application.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments and results and help keep standard operating procedures (SOPs) up to date.
