A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR IDL) is seeking for a Research Officer to join us in our mission to be a leading centre of infectious diseases research. A*STAR IDL aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.

 

Job Description:

A Research Officer position in life Sciences is immediately available in the group of Dr. Amit Singhal.

 

The overall interest of the group is to carry fundamental and translational immuno-metabolic research in the space of inflammation and infectious diseases. Human cells / In vitro / animal models and advanced omics techniques are utilized.

 

  • The job responsibilities are as follows:
  • Involvement in projects related to metabolic regulation in host cells during inflammation
  • Perform in vitro and animal experiments.
  • Perform wet lab experiments using techniques such as molecular biology (single cell omics), immunohistochemical analysis, flowcytometry
  • Perform husbandry and genotyping of the laboratory’s mouse colony
  • Provide laboratory maintenance support and procurement activities
  • Analysis of Omics data

Job Requirement

Qualification:

  • A Bachelor degree in life sciences
  • Team player, independent, self-driven with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and committed
  • Competency with animal work and immunological/molecular biological techniques; flow cytometry
  • Knowhow of dry lab (bioinformatics) is important.
  • Strong communication, data interpretation and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge / experience with bacteria and/or viruses
  • Experience: 1-2 years
