Description
Job duties & Responsibilities:
This role requires an individual passionate about developing innovative rapid single-molecule point-of-care detection and sequencing technologies. The RO will be able to:
- Conduct wet lab experiments involving protein purification and assays using various techniques such as fluorescence microscopy and nanopore sequencing;
- Prepare research findings for publications, reports, and presentations;
- Undertake the day-to-day running of the project and collaborate with team members in supporting lab operation;
- Daily lab management tasks such as taking inventory and ordering;
- Conduct literature searches and analyse data, as well as assist in preparing progress reports;
- Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures;
- Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.
- Experience with techniques related to microscopy, nanopore sequencing and nanopore data analysis, yeast display and FACS is a plus but not required.
Job Requirements (Qualifications/Skills etc):
The applicant should:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or a related field.
- Prior experience in laboratory research involving yeast display, FACS, enzyme and DNA assays, protein expression and purification, nanopores or microscopy is preferred.
- Proficiency in routine molecular and cell biology techniques such as PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, sequencing, fluorescence microscopy, and cloning.
- Strong data analysis and presentation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, able to prepare clear research documentation and contribute to team discussions.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
