Responsibilities

Project Lifecycle & Portfolio Management

  • Update, maintain and ensure accuracy of project records in the A*STAR Project System (A*PS) to support end-to-end project lifecycle management.
  • Assist Principal Investigators (PIs) in managing R&D projects from initiation, execution through to completion and closure.
    • Monitor and track project progress against milestones, deliverables, timelines, budgets, invoicing and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Liaise and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
    • Facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting minutes, action items, and follow-ups where required.

 

Documentation & Process Development

  • Develop, review and maintain project management documentation and records to a high standard.
  • Support the development, review and updating of project management–related SOPs, workflows, and guidelines.

 

Industry Engagement

  • Assist in engagement with industry and public sector partners, connecting them with A*STAR researchers.
  • Provide support on project scoping, including objectives, deliverables, budgets, timelines and intellectual property considerations.
  • Support the preparation, review and coordination of research collaboration and service agreements with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other ad-hoc duties and assignments as required by the Reporting Officer or Director.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related discipline.
  • At least 1–2 years of working experience, preferably in the biomedical, healthcare, medtech, or related sectors.
  • Prior exposure to project lifecycle management in a research environment is an advantage.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic understanding of research funding, grant management, industry engagement and intellectual property concepts is beneficial.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage both scientific and non-scientific stakeholders.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently with guidance.
  • Comfortable working in a structured, compliance-oriented research environment with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Attributes

  • Interest in project management as a career pathway within research administration.
  • Familiarity with SOP-driven environments and audit or compliance processes.
