Job Description and Requirements

We are seeking for a highly motivated and talented Research Officer to join Dr Soh Boon Seng’s lab at IMCB. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment focused on developing novel therapeutics and disease modelling platforms. The research officer will contribute to ongoing projects by performing experiments under the guidance of project leads and support general laboratory operations. 

Responsibilities:

• Maintain iPSC and ESC cell lines and perform routine differentiation protocols towards cardiovascular and related lineages. 
• Assist in the disease modelling assays using advanced laboratory techniques. 
• Contribute to experimental design, data analysis and documentation of research findings. 
• Maintain accurate, timely records of experimental procedures, results, and data analysis.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, reagent and consumable management, enforcement of safety procedures, and procurement of laboratory supplies to ensure smooth daily operations.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences or related fields
• Interest in stem cell biology, disease modelling and therapeutic discovery
• Experience in basic cell culture and molecular biology techniques (Microscopy, qPCR, Western Blotting, Immunofluorescence)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team with a positive work attitude and a willingness to learn
• Good organizational skills to plan and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
