Research Engineer

As part of National Semiconductor Translation and Innovation Center (NSTIC), the candidate will work with photonic pathfinding team in developing hybrid thin film lithium niobate (TFLN) and silicon nitride (SiN) photonic integrated circuits for quantum applications. The candidate main responsibility will be an integrator who works with cross-functional teams from design, integration to advanced process module teams, in developing feasible/manufacturable process and integration flow.  

Responsibilities

  • Process development of lithium niobate (LiNbO3) and silicon nitride patterning.  
  • Design of experiments (DOE) in integration flow and module development.
  • Liaise between design, fabrication, and testing teams to ensure smooth process integration and device fabrication.
  • Metrology, data analysis, and documentation
  • Present and discuss experimental data to the team

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent.
  • Experience in semiconductor industry is preferred, particularly in silicon photonics.
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Able to work with cross-functional team, with good communication/presentation skill.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
