In a dynamic R&D environment, the engineer will support product and system conceptualisation, FEA/CFD simulation, prototype fabrication, post-processing, NDT, mechanical testing, data analysis, quality assessment, robotic/CAM-based operations, jig and fixture development, documentation, procurement, lab operations, equipment maintenance, inventory control, HSE compliance and risk assessments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate customer problem statements into practical product or system concepts for industry applications, R&D activities, innovation and technology improvement.
  • Perform FEA/CFD simulation, design evaluation, optimization, lightweighting, sizing and design iterations for prototype fabrication and verification.
  • Operate industrial robotic/CAM-based systems for fabrication, post-processing, test coupon preparation and material characterisation, including tensile, compression and bending tests.
  • Conduct quality assessment, CMM, NDT, handheld inspection, FAI support and data analysis for parts, components and final products.
  • Support product testing through sensor installation, instrumentation, data acquisition, data post-processing and failure investigation.
  • Design jigs and fixtures, prepare 2D drawings, document product design evolution and maintain records for archiving.
  • Coordinate with machining houses and vendors for jig/fixture fabrication, assembly, equipment diagnostics, preventive maintenance and function checks.
  • Support lab operations, equipment scheduling, procurement, raw feedstock management, inventory control and lab improvement activities.
  • Work safely and effectively in compliance with HSE requirements, risk assessments and operational procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
