Key Responsibilities

Planning and execution

  • Review formal research and collaboration agreements to ensure alignment with project scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource feasibility; and contribute to strengthening project planning approaches.
  • Provide targeted support for project planning, scheduling, and timeline management for complex projects.
  • Support project closure activities, including consolidation of deliverables and documentation of outcomes.

 

Project oversight and governance

  • Support tracking and reporting of projects via A*STAR's project management system per PMO governance requirements.
  • Facilitate regular project review meetings with Principal Investigators and project teams to track progress, mitigate risks, escalate issues, and ensure alignment on objectives and deliverables.
  • Assist in project system-related matters arising from system enhancements and evolving organisational structures.

 

Stakeholder management and reporting

  • Serve as a liaison between research teams, institutional support functions, and external partners — including industry collaborators and academic partners — to facilitate coordination, manage expectations, and ensure alignment on deliverables and timelines.
  • Coordinate institutional reporting and prepare updates, reports, and materials for governance forums and stakeholder engagement.

 

Standards and continuous improvement

  • Promote awareness and adoption of project management standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of SOPs, templates, and tools to strengthen project governance and operational effectiveness.
  • Support the standardization of project documentation, tracking, and reporting to enhance transparency across projects.
  • Facilitate lessons learned at project closure and channel insights into frameworks and tools.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related discipline. PhD holders welcome.
  • PMP certification required, or demonstrated commitment to obtain within 3 months.
  • 2–5 years of project management experience, preferably in biomedical, research, or healthcare environments.
  • Strong coordination, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, able to manage and synthesize information across multiple projects.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a dynamic, cross-functional environment and engage stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience with external partners or in multi-stakeholder environments is advantageous.
  • Experience with project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with formal research and collaboration agreements (e.g., project, collaboration, NDA agreements) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to research ethics, biosafety, and therapeutic development is an advantage.
