Position Title: Scientist / Senior Scientist (X-ray & Computational Metrology), X-ray Section, Optics and Imaging System Group
Job Description:
The Group is seeking a highly self-motivated Scientist or Senior Scientist to architect the next generation of high-throughput, high-resolution inspection solutions. You will lead R&D that bridges advanced physics (X-ray/electron/optical) with Artificial Intelligence to solve critical failure-analysis and production QA challenges in the semiconductor, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
You will play a leading role in identifying fundamental physical and algorithmic bottlenecks in today’s industrial inspection workflows. Your mission is to explore, propose, and validate novel R&D topics, ultimately translating breakthrough IP into robust production-ready equipment. We are looking for a thinker who can look beyond traditional X-ray CT and re-imagine how we generate, reconstruct, and interpret 3D data at the nano-scale.
Focused areas include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Physics & Source Innovation
- AI-Driven Reconstruction & Image Quality
- Intelligent Defect Analysis & Decision Intelligence
Job Requirements:
- PhD in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
- 4+ years of post-graduate R&D experience (industry or post-doc) in one or more of the following:
- X-ray generation, optics, or detector physics.
- Computational imaging / Inverse problems (e.g., CT, MRI, RADAR, Seismic).
- Applied Machine Learning (Computer Vision, 3D Point Clouds, or Signal Processing).
- Strong track record of publications and grant applications
- Innovative, self-driven, adaptable, and proactive team player with a demonstrable ability to work across physics, engineering, and data science disciplines.
