JOB DESCRIPTION
The Corporate Communications (CC) division maintains A*STAR’s visibility in a fast-paced media landscape. Through a dynamic, multi-channel approach, we communicate A*STAR’s research impact in tangible, relatable ways by connecting complex scientific advancements and innovations to economic and public good. We articulate how our discoveries translate into meaningful outcomes for the public, industry, and scientific community.
The Branding and Marketing (B&M) team in the CC division is responsible for branding and marketing A*STAR as an innovation engine for Singapore and beyond, for both economic growth and other real-world needs. Working across A*STAR and whole-of- government, we shape compelling, purpose-driven narratives for campaigns that demonstrate how science and technology improve lives, transform and grow industries, as well as support Singapore’s future-readiness.
Within B&M, the Events+ team is set up to deliver a cohesive and impactful approach to A*STAR-branded events, drive thought leadership, nurture advocacy, as well as effective stakeholder engagement and vendor management. The team ensures customer journeys and experiences align with organisational goals and evolving engagement trends to create meaningful connections between A*STAR and its stakeholders. The goal is to strengthen awareness, trust and advocacy for A*STAR's research, innovation and impact.
The Manager / Senior Manager will support the planning and delivery of strategic events and engagement initiatives to deliver on A*STAR's communications and stakeholder engagement objectives. They will be expected to work closely with divisions across A*STAR, the ecosystem and corporate stakeholders to design impactful audience experiences, support communications initiatives, strengthen stakeholder engagement and maximise event outcomes.
This role will report directly to a Senior Assistant Director in A*STAR Corporate Communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Event and Audience Engagement
- Support the development and execution of strategic events and engagement initiatives that support A*STAR's organisational priorities, communications objectives and stakeholder engagement goals.
- Develop and implement audience-centric and engagement approaches and experiences that strengthen connections with key stakeholders, including industry partners, researchers, policymakers, STEM talent and the public.
Event Delivery and Project Management
- Oversee the end-to-end planning and delivery of physical, virtual and hybrid events, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives, stakeholder expectations and budget requirements.
- Manage agencies, vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure effective programme development, operational readiness and successful event execution.
Communications and Content Amplification
- Partner stakeholders to integrate communications objectives into event planning and identify opportunities to amplify A*STAR's research, innovation and impact stories.
- Support the development of thought leadership, stakeholder advocacy, and audience outreach opportunities through events and engagement platforms.
Stakeholder Partnership and Insights
- Build strong partnerships across A*STAR’s research entities and external stakeholders to support and develop integrated engagement initiatives.
- Analyse event performance, audience engagement and stakeholder feedback to generate insights and recommendations that strengthen future engagement strategies.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years of experience in event management, stakeholder engagement, communications, marketing or related fields.
- Proven experience delivering complex events or stakeholder engagement initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong stakeholder and project management, communications and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to operational details.
- Strong communications and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into audience-centric engagement experiences and content.
- Strong interpersonal skills
The following would be an advantage:
- Experience working in a matrix organisation or a science and technology environment
- Experience in audience engagement, experiential marketing, communications or content-driven events
- Knowledge of Singapore's research, innovation, public sector or industry ecosystem.
