Job Description
Background
The RIE Human Health and Potential (HHP) domain aims to build on its effort in RIE2025 and further enable safe and efficient use of more quality data to support biomedical and health research as well as enhance HHP data research ecosystem’s competitiveness.
This development of the HHP Data System is jointly supported by RIE TRUST Office1, Biomedical Data Hub (BDH), 2 and National Cohort Office (NCO), 3 and supported by a HHP Data System Joint Team. The Joint Team supports initiatives for HHP Data System, such as improving discoverability through harmonised and interoperable HHP Ecosystem metadata catalogue, uplift research data quality and curation efforts, coordinated HHP Ecosystem data network comprising of data generators, nodes, and exchange platforms, as well as promulgation of best practices in research data governance and data stewardship.
Specifically, this role is responsible for
- Coordination of strategic communications efforts across HHP data ecosystem partners and ensuring alignment with broader HHP domain objectives.
- Liaising with stakeholders to keep abreast of project statuses and their media potential. Identify opportunities with partners for brand exposure (e.g. partner communications, events etc).
- Spearheading public engagement efforts and ongoing monitoring of public sentiment, support the creation and maintenance of communications channels e.g. website and collaterals.
Job Description
Strategic Communications
- Work with stakeholders to develop and implement a communications plan and narrative for HHP data ecosystem
- Identify and implement opportunities for media / public exposure through mainstream and industry media, partner publications and events. Manage media queries and ad hoc requests as required.
Patient and Public Engagement
- Support patient and public engagement activities and the monitoring of public sentiment towards various concepts relating to data sharing, governance protocols around data access and the benefits of research to society.
Job Requirements
- Minimum degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related discipline. 3-5 years of working experience in strategic communications, corporate communications and / or scientific or advocacy communications.
- Sensitivity to diverse audiences and demonstrated sound judgement in messaging and message mediums. Experience in public engagement, the formulation and conducting of surveys and focus groups.
- Demonstrated ability in media relations, desktop publishing, copywriting, social media, event management and the distillation of complex concepts into layperson language is desirable.
- Strong project management skills and ability to work independently and across teams and with external stakeholders. Experience in the research and / or tertiary education sector will be an advantage.
