Job Description

The Institute of Microelectronics (IME), a leading research institute within A*STAR, is seeking a technology competent Assistant Project Manager / Associate Project Manager / Project Manager to manage project(s) in advance packaging semiconductor research area. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive R&D projects at the intersection of academia and industry with in-house world class state of the arts R&D facilities and resources. In this role, the candidate would contribute to fostering innovation at the cutting edge and strengthening Singapore's position as one of the global leaders in advance packaging semiconductor technology.

Role and Responsibilities

Role

Manage project as per the project lifecycle framework - meeting project scope, schedule & cost requirements and be at forefront of communication between the team and stakeholders (internal/external).

Responsibilities

Perform by planning, organizing, executing from concept to delivery / outcome:

  • Analyse trends and deep dive with technical/ research team to fine-tune needs, requirements, and expectations of customers.
  • Deliver project outcomes in the defined scope, costs, quality, and timeline.
  • Facilitate excellent communication between the cross-functional team members; fosters teamwork, motivates personnel and aim towards continual improvement.
  • Interact with industry members and ensure effective communication throughout the project life cycle.
  • Manage critical vendors and service providers to deliver according to project requirements.
  • Manage and monitor project/ programme issues & mitigate risk.
  • Manage and implement project/ programme changes and interventions to achieve project deliverables and mitigate risk.
  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of understanding of technical/ engineering processes to work with teams throughout the project development cycle.
  • Track, monitor and report the progress of the project to all stakeholders.
  • Manage project stakeholders’ expectations, driving towards common goal.

Admin for documentation and compliance:

  • Ensure project documentation (e.g., project agreement, reports, etc.) is relevant, accurate, complete, and compliant

Requirements

  • Possesses an advanced degree (minimum a bachelor) in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in semiconductor technology environment with good understanding of silicon process and advance packaging technologies.
  • Demonstrates good understanding and skills for project management (PMP certification is preferred).  
  • Exhibits good level of following skills: Communication, people, innovativeness, problem solving, critical thinking, achieving outcomes, motivating others, decision making, and business.
