Job Summary

The Laboratory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, and high standards of safety and quality. This role involves managing personnel, overseeing equipment and inventory, and coordinating resource planning to meet lab objectives.

Key Responsibilties

• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure productivity and efficiency
• Keep track of compliance with all relevant safety regulations, and institutional policies (E.g IACUC/GMAC/IRB)
• Oversee procurement, and inventory of supplies and equipment
• Oversee laboratory instruments, coordinating maintenance and calibration
• Supervise, train, and onboard laboratory staff, interns and collaborators
• Monitor documentation practices according to institutional guidelines
• Develop, implement, and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Science)
• Proven experience in laboratory operations, with prior supervisory or management experience preferred
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in standard office software
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
