Job Description
We are seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to build a next-generation Photonic Design Automation platform for photonic integrated circuit design. You will work with photonics scientists and algorithm engineers to transform advanced design, simulation, and optimization technologies into intuitive, reliable, and production-ready software.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-performance interfaces for layout editing, simulation setup, visualization, verification, and project management.
- Build end-to-end workflows connecting frontend applications, backend services, databases, job systems, and computational engines.
- Integrate simulation, optimization, routing, verification, and AI capabilities into maintainable production software.
- Develop APIs, data models, asynchronous task workflows, error recovery, logging, and monitoring.
- Establish automated testing, CI/CD, packaging, and deployment for desktop, cloud, or on-premises environments.
- Improve usability, performance, reliability, documentation, and overall engineering quality.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to convert research prototypes into scalable software products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong full-stack development experience with at least one modern frontend framework and one backend language.
- Experience with APIs, databases, distributed workflows, Git, Linux, automated testing, CI/CD, and deployment.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, maintainability, reliability, and observability.
- Good analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in photonics, scientific computing, simulation, or engineering software.
Others
- Experience with CAD, EDA, scientific software, graphical editors, or data visualization.
- Familiarity with desktop frameworks, graphics technologies, computational geometry, or distributed task systems.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or AI model integration.
- Knowledge of silicon photonics, electromagnetic simulation, or semiconductor design workflows.
- Experience building software products from initial architecture to production.
