Role Summary
We are seeking for a passionate, experienced and commercially astute Director of Marketing and Communications to lead the strategic positioning and external visibility of SIMTech & ARTC (S&A)’s capabilities, platforms and institutional offerings. This role is responsible for shaping and evolving SIMTech & ARTC’s (S&A) creative and content strategy, to strengthen S&A brand identity and ensuring consistency of all brand communication across all traditional and digital touch-points. This is a high-impact role driving market-facing narratives, strengthening S&A’s brand presence and driving integrated communications and outreach to support stakeholder engagement, industry partnerships and business development objectives. The successful candidate need not have deep technical expertise but should be highly effective in strategic thinking and content strategy, working in tandem with scientists, engineers and programme teams to translate technical content into accessible, business-relevant messaging for external audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand & Positioning: Shape and evolve S&A’s creative and content strategy and deploy our brand story in a way which establishes strong emotional connections and resonates to our customers and members in the manufacturing sector
- Integrated Communication: Establish and drive S&A’s corporate identity, ensuring a consistent, professional and differentiated brand voice across all communications and outreach channels.
- Campaign & Digital Marketing Own and manage the digital brand experience including brand creatives, influencer marketing and social media strategies, to generate awareness, engagement and commercial interest.
- Impact Narratives: Partner with R&D teams & Biz Tech Team to develop clear, narratives that bring alive impact, benefit and value of S&A’s technologies, and capabilities to Policy makers, industry partners and talent.
- Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy: Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for S&A that drive awareness, lead generation & Strong Engagement. Powered by technologies, platforms and solutions of S&A in close collaboration with business development team.
- Thought Leadership & External Visibility: Promote research milestones, publications, technology showcases and institutional achievements through media relations, public relations, speaking platforms and strategic industry engagement channels.
- Experience Marketing - Events, Exhibitions & Trade Shows: Lead the planning and delivery of institute-level events, exhibitions, trade shows and industry showcases, including wholistic experience, messaging, content, stakeholder engagement and amplification strategy
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a key liaison between internal R&D teams and external stakeholders, including enterprise clients, government agencies, research collaborators, industry partners and media.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing marketing and communications team, of content and digital marketers, events marketing and creatives across S&A.
- Partnership with Business Development: Identify customer insights in close partnership with business development team to identify opportunities, barriers and triggers for Lead generation to conversion funnel.
- Agency Ecosystem & Performance: Measure the effectiveness of campaigns and consistency of Brand across channels in Online & Offline. Create and manage an agency ecosystem that drives impact & conversion
- Strategic Support: Work with A*STAR Corporate Communications team and key Research Institutes to enable the wholistic campaign for SERC across public relations and Digital Marketing.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience: At least 10-15 years of progressive experience in brand and experience marketing, Digital Marketing, Content Management, Public Relations and ideally across B2C & B2B. Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership or managerial role.
- Industry Background: Experience in a high-tech, research, manufacturing, innovation, or B2B enterprise environment will be advantageous.
- Collaboration Skills: Strong ability to work effectively with subject matter experts, including scientists, engineers and programme teams, to develop clear and impactful communications and marketing materials.
- Track Record: Demonstrated success in strengthening brand visibility and supporting the launch, promotion, or market positioning of products, services, programmes, or institutional offerings.
- Leadership: An experienced and proven people Manager, who is agile and can adapt quickly. Operate in a high-growth business where change is constant, and flexibility is key to ensure success for the greater team
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
