The AIR Planning Directorate undertakes the key planning functions for A*STAR Graduate Academy (A*GA), International Partnerships Office (IPO) and Research Office (RO). Led by the Deputy Chief Executive (Research), the day-to-day operations of AIR are managed by Group Director, AIR.
AIR Planning is an integral part of AIR and works closely with the departments across AIR. You will have the opportunity to deepen planning capabilities, gain exposure and understand the core operations and functions of AIR and its interactions across A*STAR including with HQ, the Councils, Research Institutes and National Platforms. As part of day-to-day operations, you will also be involved in planning, organising and coordinating various corporate events and management meetings with other team members. In the process of stakeholders engagement and management, you will have ample opportunities to interact with A*STAR senior management directly, as well as various counterparts in government agencies including senior officials. We take a deep interest in developing our team and there will be opportunities to grow into new roles within the wider A*STAR community and public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Deputy Director is required to:
- Support D (Planning) in strategy development and long-term plans to achieve AIR’s strategic priorities and desired outcomes;
- Manage corporate planning activities including budget projection and management, cash projection and management as well as quarterly reporting;
- Oversee the analysis of KPI and Tracking Indicators and their associated management reporting;
- Develop and review policies, procedures and guidelines
- Rationalise and monitor use of resources within the AIR Group
- Manage ad-hoc and/or urgent queries/request for info related to AIR
- Liaise and co-ordinate with key external stakeholders (e.g. MTI, NRF) ; and
- Support leadership on special assignments and projects
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Min 6 years of relevant working experience in either government sector or private companies
- Relevant working experience in strategic and corporate planning would be an advantage
- At least an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Science, Statistics or equivalent would be preferred
- Strong analytical thinking skills
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver the desired outcomes
- Ability to translate organisational intent or goals into actionable initiatives to achieve results
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Resilient and able to work under tight timelines
- Proficient in Microsoft applications. Proficiency in Power Automate, Power BI and Tableau would be an advantage
