Role Summary

The Senior Data Analyst / Analytics Lead will lead the analytics function and ensure that enterprise data is translated into trusted insights, executive dashboards and measurable business outcomes. This role is accountable for setting analytics standards, shaping dashboard roadmaps, managing analysts and building strong relationships with senior business stakeholders.

 

This is a hybrid leadership and hands-on role. The candidate must be able to guide a team, review analytical work, define KPI frameworks, work with Snowflake-based datasets and communicate insights to leadership in a concise and outcome-oriented manner.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Analytics Strategy and Delivery Leadership

  • Define and maintain the enterprise analytics roadmap across priority domains such as Finance, Procurement, HR, Research Administration and Corporate Functions.
  • Prioritise analytical products based on business value, stakeholder urgency, data readiness and reusability.
  • Lead the delivery of high-impact dashboards, KPI scorecards, diagnostic analytics and business performance reviews.
  • Establish standards for dashboard design, metric definitions, version control, documentation and release governance.

 

Team Management and Capability Building

  • Lead, coach and mentor a team of Data Analysts, ensuring quality, consistency and timely delivery.
  • Allocate work across the team, manage priorities and remove delivery blockers.
  • Review dashboards, SQL logic, data models and analytical narratives prepared by analysts.
  • Build analytics capability through knowledge-sharing sessions, reusable patterns and practical data literacy initiatives.

 

Stakeholder Partnership and Business Advisory

  • Partner with senior stakeholders to understand strategic questions, decision points and performance management needs.
  • Translate ambiguous business problems into analytical hypotheses, data requirements and practical delivery plans.
  • Present insights to leadership in a clear, structured and business-oriented manner.
  • Act as a bridge between business teams, data engineers, governance teams and AI teams.

 

Snowflake, Data Governance and Analytical Product Quality

  • Work with Data Engineers to ensure analytical datasets in Snowflake are reliable, certified and fit for business consumption.
  • Champion consistent KPI definitions, metric ownership, glossary alignment and transparent data lineage.
  • Ensure dashboards use governed datasets and clearly document assumptions, refresh frequency and business rules.
  • Contribute to the formation of an Analytics Centre of Excellence and reusable enterprise reporting standards.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Business Analytics or related discipline.
  • Typically 7–10 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence or performance management.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience leading, mentoring or managing analysts.
  • Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and present analytical findings to leadership.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, KPI standardisation and self-service analytics adoption.

They should be comfortable challenging unclear requirements, improving analytical quality, mentoring others and ensuring that dashboards are not just technically correct but genuinely useful for business decision-making.
