Posting Start Date:
04/05/2026
Long Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development and optimisation of GPCR functional assays, including reporter-based systems (e.g., luciferase, cAMP, calcium, β-arrestin readouts) suitable for medium- to high-throughput screening.
- Develop new reporter systems for additional functional or phenotypic endpoints beyond GPCR signalling.
- Design, generate, and validate stable or transient mammalian reporter cell lines, including construct design, molecular cloning, and cell line engineering.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., chemistry, computational biology, screening teams) to support compound evaluation and mechanistic studies.
- Analyse and interpret experimental data, including dose-response relationships, assay performance metrics, and screening outputs.
- Prepare scientific reports, presentations, and publications, and maintain rigorous documentation of experimental workflows.
- Supervise and train junior staff members, students, and interns.
Requirements
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Synthetic Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and cell line engineering, including transfection, selection, and maintenance of stable lines.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing reporter assays in mammalian systems (e.g., luciferase, fluorescent, or biosensor-based systems).
- Strong molecular biology and cloning skills, including construct design, vector systems, and DNA assembly techniques.
- Experience with GPCR biology and signalling pathways and/or assay formats used in GPCR screening is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments.
- Familiarity with assay development for screening applications, including optimisation of robustness and reproducibility
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
