The Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI) focuses on advancing food innovation through research and translation. Within our Nutrition and Digestion Health (NDH) division, we study how nutrition and diet can support proactive health and healthy ageing, with a particular interest in Asian populations. 

 

We are seeking a motivated Research Officer to join our clinical research team. This role provides the opportunity to contribute to human studies and support the translation of nutrition science into practical applications. 

 

As a Research Officer, you will support the execution of clinical studies and work closely with a multidisciplinary team. The role is well-suited for individuals interested in clinical research operations, participant engagement, and applied science where you can develop hands-on experience in clinical research while contributing to studies relevant to population health.

We are seeking a motivated Research Officer to join our clinical research team. This role provides the opportunity to contribute to human studies and support the translation of nutrition science into practical applications.

 

As a Research Officer, you will support the execution of clinical studies and work closely with a multidisciplinary team. The role is well-suited for individuals interested in clinical research operations, participant engagement, and applied science where you can develop hands-on experience in clinical research while contributing to studies relevant to population health.

 

Job Responsibilities
•    Support the conduct of clinical trials, including participant recruitment and study coordination. 
•    Perform cannulation and venepuncture for biological sample collection, along with other clinical procedures as required. 
•    Maintain study documentation and databases, ensuring data quality and compliance with study protocols. 
•    Assist in the handling and processing of biospecimens in accordance with established laboratory procedures. 
•    Coordinate preparation of study meals in line with food safety and nutritional standardisation requirements. 
•    Engage with study participants professionally to support a positive study experience. 
•    Provide logistical and administrative support to ensure studies are conducted according to timelines. 
•    Administer questionnaires and ensure accurate and complete data collection.

 

Job Requirements
•    Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition Sciences, Life Sciences (e.g. Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry), or a Healthcare discipline (e.g. Nursing, Public Health)
•    Demonstrated competency in cannulation and venepuncture. 
•    Experience in biospecimen handling (e.g., blood, stool) is advantageous. 
•    Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the Human Biomedical Research Act (HBRA) is preferred. 
•    Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with study participants. 
•    Able to work both independently while also contributing as part of a team.
