Job Summary
The High Performance Computing Chapter at IAIC, A*STAR, is seeking a scientist to develop efficient and intelligent computing methods for AI and scientific applications. The role connects advances in AI algorithms, computing systems and scientific workflows to improve computational efficiency and enable more effective use of computing resources.
Research opportunities include efficient AI models and agents, AI-assisted system optimisation, and the integration of AI with scientific modelling and simulation. The successful candidate will work with local and international collaborators to develop and evaluate research methods and reusable software. The specific research focus will reflect the candidate’s expertise and project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop methods that improve the efficiency of AI models and agents, considering the relationship between algorithm design, application requirements and computing resources.
- Investigate AI-assisted approaches to computing system optimisation, including resource management, scheduling or workflow execution.
- Develop approaches that combine AI with scientific modelling and simulation to accelerate scientific workflows while preserving application quality.
- Implement and evaluate research prototypes against appropriate baselines, producing reproducible evidence of improvements in performance, resource efficiency or scalability.
- Collaborate with research partners to translate findings into publications, reusable software and technical demonstrations.
The appointee will contribute to selected research areas according to expertise and project needs; expertise across all areas is not expected.
Essential Requirements
