Job Responsibilities

  • Domain Mastery: Actively learn and acquire deep domain knowledge in aviation and weather systems through On-Job-Training (OJT) to effectively build contextualized solutions.
  • Research Translation: Work closely with collaborators, researchers, and end-users to formulate requirements and translate A*STAR research into viable, user-centric software solutions.
  • System Design: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and modular systems utilizing microservices architectures.
  • Feature Development: Collaborate with a variety of teammates (designers, product owners, researchers) to build features, design concepts, and interactive prototypes while ensuring UX specifications and best practices are embedded along the way.
  • End-to-End Delivery: Oversee and actively participate in the entire software development lifecycle; from ideation and consulting to deployment and maintenance.
  • DevSecOps & CI/CD: Efficiently utilize DevSecOps tools to build and deploy software. You will advocate for a strong DevOps culture and champion “shifting security left” in the development pipeline.
  • Agile Advocacy: Use and advocate for agile and continuous delivery practices to consistently deliver high-quality software and bring value to collaborators as early as possible.

Job Qualifications

Technical Skills

At least 1+ year of professional software development experience.

  • Full Stack Development: You are capable of developing both front-end user interfaces and back-end logic. You understand how the client and server interact and are comfortable contributing to any part of the application stack.
  • Core Stack: Proficiency in Java, Node.js, Python, TypeScript, and React.
  • Software Craftsmanship: Strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). You can skillfully write clean, high-quality, and well-tested code.
  • Agile & CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum) and a solid understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) approaches and tools.
  • Quality & Security: Good awareness of code quality metrics and modern security frameworks.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure (Bonus): Working knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g. AWS) and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) is highly advantageous.
