Job Summary

A Senior Research Officer position is available in the Hair & Pigmentation Development Laboratory at A*STAR Skin Research Labs (ASRL), a partner of the Skin Research Institute of Singapore (SRIS). The successful candidate will join our research team to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating human skin pigmentation, with a particular focus on vitiligo and pollution-induced hyperpigmentation disorders.

The candidate will contribute to translational research aimed at identifying and validating novel molecular pathways and therapeutic targets involved in pigmentation and repigmentation. The work will include the use of in vitro and in vivo experimental models, molecular and cellular biology approaches, pigmentation assays, imaging, and analysis of experimental data. The candidate will be expected to independently plan and conduct experiments, troubleshoot methodologies, interpret results, maintain accurate experimental records, and contribute to scientific reports, presentations, and publications. The Senior Research Officer will work closely with other members of the laboratory and external collaborators and will contribute to the development and validation of new therapeutic strategies for pigmentation disorders. This position is fully dedicated to these research activities.

Requirements

• Degree in Biology, Bioengineering, Life Sciences or equivalent
• Advanced cell culture and molecular techniques
• Experienced with 2D and 3D skin organotypic assays
• Experienced with mouse in-vivo models
• Experienced with RNA, single-cell  and spatial transcriptomics analyses
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
• Highly motivated, passionate about science, committed to laboratory work and able to work flexible hours, as required by experimental planning
