A Research Engineer position is available immediately at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), A*STAR, Singapore. We are seeking candidates interested in working on research topics of self-supervised learning and continual learning. Candidates should have expertise in at least one of the following areas, in addition to a strong machine learning background: continual learning, online learning, anomaly detection, curriculum learning, meta-learning, unsupervised learning, Bayesian learning, and Optimization.

Successful applicants will work with an interdisciplinary team to conduct R&D on lifelong learning and their applications for niche applications.

Main tasks include but not limited to:

• Perform research on self-supervised learning and continual learning.
• Implement for time series data analytics on various applications, such as human activity recognition, machine health monitoring, sleep stage classification, etc.
• Work closely with a team of research scientist and engineers in deep learning and continual learning.
• Publish research papers on top conferences or journals.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors/Masters in computer science, engineering or related field
• Strong knowledge and expertise in machine learning
• Knowledge and expertise in self-supervised learning, online/continual learning, activity recognition, time-series sensory data analysis, etc.
• Proficiency in programming skills. Familiar with Python programming and deep learning tools of PyTorch/TensorFlow
• Ability to work independently, as well as in teams, highly desired
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Good communication skills
• Publication on top venues is a plus
