We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher who will assist in executing and managing a new project on cultivated fish fat using cellular agriculture technology, especially on its downstream applications as alternative lipids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine fish stem cell and fat cell culture work such as cell expansion and differentiation
- Plan and carry out independent experiments to scale up the production of cultivated fish adipocytes using bioreactors
- Plan and carry out independent experiments to investigate nutritional profiles, safety, and sensory properties of cultivated fish adipocytes.
Collaborate with internal and external researchers in exploring the stability, packaging, and prototyping cultivated fish adipocytes with other products such as alternative protein
- Manage, coordinate and schedule meetings with internal team and external collaborators / stakeholders
- Techniques to employ may include lipids/metabolomics analysis, food related assessments, lipid/food stability assays, cell proliferation assays (MTT, MTS), cell line management, cellular staining, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, RNA extraction, gene expression analysis, protein analysis
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Biomedical / Life Science, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or equivalent field
- Passion for nutrition, alternative protein and cellular agriculture
- Responsible, organised and focused, with a strong desire to learn
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, take ownership of research projects
- Proficient in general cell culture techniques
- Collaborate with other researchers well in a fast-paced environment
- Meticulous and organized with an ability to multi-task
- Possess good communication, report writing, interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills
- Committed to laboratory ethics and can work flexible hours.
- Proficiency in molecular cell biology, analytical techniques, lipid biochemistry, and/or bioreactor process is preferred
