Candidate will lead a team of RF/mmWave IC designers to embark on R&D activities for future communication in exciting areas like 5G & beyond, 6G SatCom, etc., developing ICs for phased arrays. Candidate will also have the opportunities to shape the next generation process working with state-of-the-art fabrication facilities in both commercial as well as in-development processes within IME.
Responsibilities:
· Lead team to deliver industry relevant projects and develop new innovations
· Lead team to derive RF/mmWave front end requirements from communication standards like ITU/DVB (SatCom), regulatory filings and emission requirements FCC/ETSI and budget spec
· Collaborate with local ecosystem (industries and universities) to train new talents and drive / develop technical roadmaps
Job Requirements:
· A PhD in a relevant science or engineering field with strong emphasis in RF/mmWave IC design.
· At least 8 years of design experience in RF/mmWave IC design.
· Experienced in one or more of the following areas:
o Hands-on / leadership experience in designing of RF/mmWave ICs like LNA, phase-shifter, Mixer, RF-switch, mm-Wave power amplifier (PA), VGA etc
o Knowledgeable with at least two technologies for RF (CMOS, FDSOI, SiGe, GaN)
o Mastery of at least two of the simulation tools (Keysight ADS, RFPro, HFSS, Cadence, Systemvue etc)
o Can operate mmWave test equipment like network analysers, wafer probing stations, signal analyser, spectrum analyser, calibration (TRL/SOLT etc) and de-embedding for mmWave testing.
o Ability to characterise S parameters, Noise figure, Isolation & non-linearity (third order intercepts, P1dB, harmonics), load pull of mmWave ICs & modules. OTA testing, parameters for standard compliance like 5G, Satcom, Radar (EVM, ACLR)
Knowledge of SatCom standards and 5G NTN standards and good networking with RF/mmWave research groups and industry will be a plus.
o Proven track record through product development, publications and patents.
o Knowledge of cryogenic (4K) RF/Analog IC Design is a plus.
· Industry experience, system IC development and multi-disciplinary R&D experience would be a plus.
