· Contribute to the planning and execution of studies to better understand the role of sensory and psychological factors that influence food and intake and health in infants, and children. Experience with children’s eatingbehaviour methods and video-coding is preferable.
· Experience with data analysis and interpretation. Skills and experience in identifying, critically analysing and drawing conclusions from findings of scientific studies in the fields human nutrition and food intake behaviour in infants, and children.
· Track record of experience in the preparation of manuscripts for peer review publication and presentations of findings at scientific meetings.
· Coach and develop junior staff in the appropriate scientific and statistical methodologies and in the interpretation of data. Proactively collaborate with Scientists within the SICS to develop interdisciplinary research that combines behavioural and physiological approaches to understanding human food intake.
Education and experience
· Candidates must possess a PhD in Psychology/Human Nutrition with a focus on eating behaviours and food intake in infants, and children.
· Experience in initiating studies that explore eating behaviours, food preference and food intake in infants, and children is essential.
· Strong knowledge and proficiency in statistics and the statistical tools required to analyse and interpret data from behavioural nutrition, sensory, observational food intake, behavioural questionnaire and eating behaviour studies.
· 2-3 years’ experience in conducting research on food intake research with infants, and children and exposure to sensory and food intake methods and analysis. Individuals with experience in one or more of the following research areas involving human subjects are encouraged to apply: child developmental psychology, behavioural nutrition, learning and development processes relating to appetite regulation, food intake and/or food selection/preferences among infants and children.
· An understanding of body composition methods and interpretation.
· Experience in scientific writing and systematic reviews and the preparation of scientific documents. Track record of successful publications.
· Excellent written and oral presentation skills in English.
