We seek a passionate and committed candidate for the development of new concept quantum devices based on e.g. ballistic, topologically, valley pseudosopins, moire superlattices, etc. in quantum materials or lithographically defined quantum materials. This position require candidate to direct research and lead a team. The work will include the conceptualisation of device design, working with fabrication teams to develop the devices, and measurement teams to perform the transport studies at cryogenic temperatures. The candidate is expected to have a proven track record in quantum transport device development.
This position resides in the Quantum Materials and Devices group at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), A*STAR. As part of our research team, you will contribute to the device designs, data analysis, and documenting measurement protocols for our research in quantum devices.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and fabrication of quantum devices.
- Contribute to device measurement protocol development.
- Provide technical documentation and manuscript writing.
- Contribute to or lead in grant writing depending on level of experience.
Job Requirements
- PhD degree in physics, applied physics, materials science, electrical-electronics engineering, or related fields.
- Laboratory experience in device fabrication and cryogenic transport measurements.
- Experience in working with dilution refrigerators is an advantage.
- Ability to work unsupervised and collaboratively with a team.
- Resourceful in problem solving and critical thinking.
- Meticulous and analytical in experimental work.
- Good presentation skills (written and verbal).
