Development and validation of NEMO regional ocean model for the Southeast Asia specifically for the Maritime Continent (MC).

Implement river runoff from global data and Hydro-JULES into NEMO.

Experience with atmosphere-ocean coupling

Analyze satellite-derived salinity data, compare, and validate against available in-situ measurements.

Write reports and publish high-quality journal papers.
-
Present the results in international conference.
-
Attend training/workshop as required to maintain proficiency.

Any other duties as assigned.
Qualification & Field of Study:
· PhD in Physical Oceanography, Ocean Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Computational Fluid Dynamics, or other related discipline.
Job Requirements

Preferably minimum 3 years of relevant research/industry experience.

Strong knowledge of physical oceanography, ocean modelling and hydrodynamics.

Experience in using NEMO or other ocean circulation models.

Knowledge of Linux/UNIX operating system and shell scripts

Experience of working on an HPC/supercomputer

Good knowledge and skill in programming language (e.g., Fortran, Python)

Experience of handling large global data (netCDF format) using CDO and NCO

Familiar with MATLAB, and Ferret/pyFerret
-
Knowledge in handling satellite, in-situ, reanalysis/hindcast data will be an advantage.
