Resilient Value Chain Division of the SIMTech is looking for a Development Scientist. In this role, you will lead, and support technology development related to operations research using AI, machine learning, and optimization for supply chain applications (e.g. order fulfillment, logistics planning and so on).
Job Description:
Lead research grant application and assist in securing industry projects through stakeholder engagements.
Lead and support research project to:
· Develop new, bespoke, accurate, and fast algorithms to solve operations analytics, planning & optimization problems.
· Develop compatible data structures to improve industry-readiness of solutions and algorithms.
· Implement state-of-the-art approaches and bring them to industry-readiness status.
· Lead technical efforts in operation research by providing effective thought leadership in problem definition and solution design.
· Create IP in supply chain planning, optimization and analytics domain.
· Continuously develop personal technical skillsets to ensure technical relevance.
· Abide by software development processes and procedures to ensure high quality of deliverables.
Job Requirements:
· Doctoral in Computer science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Analytics or relevant disciplines.
· Strong skills in mathematical problem definition, algorithm design, scientific computing, and real-world problem solving.
· Strong scientific programming background (e.g. Python, Java, etc.) with familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow/Pytorch/Scikit-learn) and optimisation libraries.
· Prior experience with operational optimisation is preferrable.
· A publication track record in operations research or AI/ML for supply chain applications.
· Team player with good interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills.
