The Quantum Innovation Centre at A*STAR is seeking an independent and motivated scientist to join our team in advancing the frontier of atomic magnetometry.
About the Role:
You will be supervised to conduct research on atomic magnetometers with a focus on reducing systematic effects, contributing to the development of high performance quantum sensors for real world applications. This is a hands on, collaborative role where you will work closely with a multi disciplinary team of scientists and engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform optical design and alignment.
· Program and operate laboratory equipment for data acquisition and control.
· Analyze experimental data and contribute to the development of improved sensor designs.
· Participate in technical discussions and contribute to scientific publications and reports.
Requirements:
· A PhD in Physics or related fields
· Experience in at least one of the following areas: Experimental atomic, molecular, and/or optical physics; Programming of laboratory equipment (e.g., using Python), Data acquisition and analysis, Mechanical design (e.g., using CAD tools) and Electronics design (e.g., PCB layout, circuit simulation).
· Strong problem solving skills and a hands on approach to experimentation.
· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
