At Experimental Drug Development Centre (EDDC), we are dedicated to discovering and developing novel therapeutics through close collaboration with public sector institutions and industry partners. Drug discovery is a complex and resource-intensive journey, and we harness AI and data-driven strategies to improve the success rate of our programs. As part of our long-term strategy, we initiate projects where confidence in the therapeutic targets is strengthened by insights from patient-derived datasets. Like many biotech and pharmaceutical companies that are expanding into inflammation and immunology (I&I) disease areas, our approach reflects this growing trend and aims to deliver innovative solutions to address significant unmet medical needs in this area.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist to join our I&I discovery group. The ideal candidate should have a good grasp of concepts in immunology, molecular biology, and translational research. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the team working on the discovery of novel therapeutics and engaging in preclinical drug development from target exploration to drug candidate selection within the I&I therapeutic space.
Role and responsibilities:
- Develop experimental protocols and perform mammalian cell culture, biochemical, biophysical and cellular assays such as Western blotting, flow cytometry, thermal shift assays, plate-based assays involving fluorescence or luminescence for target validation and functional characterization of small/large molecule therapeutics.
- Support laboratory housekeeping, safety check, SOP writing and other administrative or compliance-related processes.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing technical support to ongoing projects. Participate in lab meetings and contribute to the preparation of materials for presentations and reports.
- Analyze and present experimental data in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating a good understanding of its utilization and implications in the context of drug discovery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Sciences or Master of Science in Immunology, Molecular biology or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years experience for B.Sc or a minimum of 5 years lab-experience for M.Sc.
- Extensive experience working with primary human PBMCs and/or immune cells.
- Knowledgeable in development and validation for biological assays.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver results within timelines.
- Good written and oral communication skills, with meticulous record-keeping, to maintain comprehensive, accurate, and well-organized laboratory records and experimental documentation.
- Possess strong interpersonal and collaborative spirit.
- Candidates with industry experience is preferable.
