Responsibilities

Provide technical expertise and assistance on a variety of basic and translational projects revolving around personalized medicine, and administrative/logistical upkeep pertaining to lab operations. On-the-job mentorship will be provided to help the candidate achieve their personal and career goals. It includes:

·         Routinely performing peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) extraction from patient blood

·         Performing DNA and RNA extraction from patient blood for whole genome sequencing

·         Maintenance of patient derived PBMC cultures for iPSC reprogramming

·         Detailed characterization of iPSCs

·         Maintaining accurate and detailed experimental records of procedure performed

·         Routine or ad-hoc support of day-to-day lab operations, including reagent preparation, equipment maintenance, housekeeping and laboratory safety

Job Requirements

·         Diploma in Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences or related field

·         1 or more years of relevant research experience is preferred

·         Good grasp of basic laboratory research, including experience with stem cell culture and maintenance, and standard molecular biology techniques

·         Responsible, focused, and organized, able to tolerate semi-routine work with interest in improving techniques and productivity

·         A team player who works well with others and enjoys collaboration

·         Genuine interest in basic and translational research or in pursuing a future career in research
